The Women in Travel breakfast drew more than 100 attendees and raised funds to support Hand in Hand for Haiti.

More than 100 women attended the annual Women in Travel (WIT) breakfast Tuesday morning, which doubled as a fundraiser for Hand in Hand for Haiti, an organization the IAADFS chapter of WIT has partnered with since the catastrophic earthquake that struck the country in 2010.

A raffle and silent auction of items donated from exhibitors raised more than $3,000. Patricia Bona, vice president of Essence Corp, donated an extra $1,000 to bring the total raised for Hand in Hand for Haiti to more than $4,000.

The event also included a few speakers. Amanda Anthony, CEO and founder of the travel app FlyInStyle; Johanne Boivin, president-designer at Joanel Inc., spoke about WEConnect International, an organization that helps female entrepreneurs; and Gerry Munday, global travel retail director from Furla, spoke about the charity efforts of the global Women in Travel organization. A representative from Hand in Hand for Haiti also gave an update on the organization.
