The 2014 IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas kicks off today with a day of friendly competition and multiple networking opportunities before the sold-out Trademarket opens for three days of business on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

The annual Sports Day, which features a Zumba class as well as golf, tennis, and soccer tournaments in the morning, is the perfect way to enjoy each other’s company in sunny Orlando. The activities give attendees the chance to renew friendships and establish new relationships, and get a good workout in the process.

Also today, the registration area will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. — two hours later than previous years — and nearly 200 exhibitors will be setting up their Trademarket booths. Attendees will have a wealth of suppliers to visit as they stroll through the more than 75,000 square feet of exhibit space showcasing thousands of brands geared toward the duty free market. The IAADFS Trademarket gives attendees and exhibitors an exclusive networking experience within the duty free industry.

Today will end with the Opening Reception, which is open to all attendees from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Orlando World Center Marriott pool area. The reception is always a popular mix of business and pleasure as attendees meet in a relaxed atmosphere before conducting business appointments the following days.

Registration is open until 9:00 p.m. today, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Trademarket will be open in the Cypress, Palms, and Crystal ballrooms from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Many private receptions take place each night, but a highlight of the show is the Gala Evening, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. Tuesday. Also, Club Americas, a ticketed event, will be open from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday and Tuesday nights and 9:00 p.m. to midnight Wednesday in Crystal Ballroom G.
