Urbani Truffles USA makes IAADFS debut

After experiencing success in its native Italy, Urbani Truffles is expanding into the United States, at booth 1400a.

Sabrina Notarnicola, director of marketing for Urbani Truffles USA, said her company is hoping to make a big impression on the Americas with its debut at the IAADFS Show.

“We hope to get some good leads and maybe start working with the IAADFS Duty Free Association,” she said. “It is an interesting market, and we have a line of products that will fit perfectly with the duty free stores in the United States,” she said. “We also have an important presence in all of the duty frees of Europe.”

Urbani’s booth will feature a variety of delicious items, including truffles, black truffles, bianchetti, truffle oils and butter, and Truffle Thrills, simple sauces to use on different occasions from appetizers to fish.

“We specialize in fresh truffles and other truffles products,” Notarnicola said. “We are based in Italy, and we control 70 percent of the truffle market in the world. The company is managed by the sixth generation.”

Notarnicola said now is the time for buyers to get into truffles.

“Truffle culture is growing a lot,” she said. “People increasingly want to know more. Also, we are the only company that has a line of products available and affordable for everyone.”

She added that Urbani is glad to be a part of the 2015 IAADFS Show — even if it’s figuring it all out as it goes along.

“This is the first time, so we are not aware how it all works, who will attend, and how to present the products, but we’ll manage,” she said. “We hope that it is a successful show so we can participate in next year’s show, too.”
